SUMMER SERIES: The BOOK OF DEUTERONOMY

Sundays // JUNE + JULY 2026

This summer teaching series journeys through Deuteronomy…exploring the setting, themes, theology, and lasting significance of the final book of the Pentateuch. More than simply a retelling of Israel’s history, Deuteronomy captures the final words and sermons of Moses…a faithful leader and prophet standing at the end of his life, addressing a new generation of God’s people as they prepare to enter the Promised Land.

After forty years in the wilderness, Israel stood at a defining moment. The failures, victories, lessons, and miracles of the past had all led to this point. Moses knew he would not cross into the land with them, so these final messages carry the weight, urgency, and tenderness of a spiritual father speaking to the people he deeply loves. Again and again, Moses calls Israel to remember who God is, what He has done, and how they are to live as His covenant people in a culture that would constantly tempt them to forget Him.

Throughout this series, we will wrestle with themes of obedience, worship, identity, holiness, leadership, blessing, warning, and wholehearted devotion to God. Deuteronomy continually reminds us that faith is not merely about information…it is about surrender, loyalty, and love. At the center of the book is the call to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and strength…a command that would later be echoed by Jesus Himself as the greatest commandment.

As we study these ancient sermons together, we will discover that Deuteronomy is far more than a historical farewell speech. It is a timely and prophetic invitation for God’s people today to remember His faithfulness, reject compromise, and walk courageously in obedience. The same God who guided Israel through the wilderness still speaks to His people now…and His words remain just as relevant, challenging, and life-giving today as they were thousands of years ago.
